"Committed to Quality"
Founded in South Florida in 1982 by Tony Spano Jr., A. S. General Contracting, Inc. has been providing custom home and commercial general contracting services for nearly 45 years.
Originally from Troy, New York, Tony spent his adolescent years working with his father, Anthony Sr., on tenant improvements, siding installation, and roof repairs. After moving to Florida and obtaining his General Contracting License, Tony started with relatively small projects, such as renovations of the Broward County Pompano Beach Public Library or constructing a few small 1,500 square foot homes.

It wasn't long before A. S. General was constructing chemical spill containment facilities, multi-story private office buildings, forklift storage terminal buildings for Port Everglades, and 5,000 square foot custom homes. But as both his commercial and residential work grew bigger and bigger, Tony found his true passion lied in building custom homes.

Eventually, Anthony Spano III joined his father in the custom construction business. He graduated from Law School and practiced as a successful attorney for 5 years before deciding that his passion also lied in building. Throughout all his days in the classrooms and courtrooms, Anthony never quite forgot riding in a skid steer with his father as a boy, looking over blueprints in the office, or helping to sweep up and organize job sites during the summers of his teen years. The decision to forgo the briefcase for the hard hat was, ultimately, an easy one.

And so 15 years on and 3 generations of construction experience later, Tony and Anthony now provide the Grand Strand with expert construction, property acquisition, and real estate contract knowledge.

"Building the home is the relatively easy part. It's the dedication and communication with our clients throughout our process that I think makes us special as builders."

Tony Spano Jr.
"'Committed to Quality' has been our slogan from the beginning. After 45 years, I think we can now add another slogan:
"Experience Matters."
